Still No Charges in Death of Danielle Hall
Tonight, there is still no decision on what charges will be brought against Emily Ico, the mother of nine-year-old Danielle Hall who died in her care at the family residence in Unitedville, Cayo, over the weekend. The little girl was strangled to death under mysterious circumstances and police are awaiting further instructions from the Office of the Director of Public Prosecutions to proceed with criminal charges. She is being laid to rest in her village. According to Commissioner of Police Chester Williams a file will be sent to the D.P.P.’s office in the days ahead.

“We have to look at several factors that will influence how the investigation goes and I have directed my investigators to put together the file and they are going to send it to the Director of Public Prosecutions and we’ll be guided by whatever directive she gives in respect of that matter.”

“But could you speak in terms of preliminary findings in your investigation?”
Chester Williams
“Well the only thing is that the child, based on the post mortem, died from strangulation. There are still several factors, even if it is that we believe that it is the mother who did it, we still need to look at the state of mind that she was in at the time it may have occurred. And I am not saying that she did it, I am just saying that just in the event that we may believe that hence the reason why I am saying, let us send the file to the DPP and then whatever directive she gives in terms of that matter, we are going to comply with that.”
