Who Shot Brindel Munnings?
While police could not confirm whether the killing of Kevin Hyde is a case of mistaken identity, investigators say that Belize City resident, Brindel Munnings was the intended target in a near fatal shooting on Sunday night. The forty-four-year-old is clinging to life at the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital since then. Munnings was targeted as he made his way through an alley off Police Street; it is believed that he was waylaid by a person whom he had a previous misunderstanding. Three persons were initially detained in the aftermath of the attempted murder, but have since been released. Superintendent Alejandro Cowo gives an update on the investigation.

“Sir information to our newsroom suggests that Mister Munnings was not the intended target; rather some young men who live in that general vicinity who are known to have come in contact with the law. Has police gathered that information or is it still believed that Mister Munnings was the intended target?”
Supt. Alejandro Cowo
“Well we spoke to persons in the area and we know that he was the only person at the time when the shooting happened. And we had spoken to other family members and as I mentioned on Monday, we had received certain information and we believe that yes, he was the target for that shooting.”
