Footballers demonstrate for new leadership

Story Picture
If you have access to a television, radio or newspaper, then you should know of the current football controversy. Since Monday, footballers, coaches, managers and owners of football clubs have been protesting the departure of National Team Coach LeRoy Sherrier Lewis and asking for the resignation of B.N.F.A. President Dr. Bertie Chimilio. Last night, footballers Charlie Slusher and Nelson Moss and Coach Marvin Ottley appeared on One on One with Dickie Bradley. They stated that the demonstration in Belize City is just the beginning, as they plan to go countrywide.

Charlie Slusher

“Our plan is that Saturday we’re having a large demonstration starting at the Battlefield Park here in Belize. What we’re planning to do, because we definitely will not give up on this fight and we’re getting enough support to continue it.”

Dickie Bradley

“The public is supporting you? Footballers and fans are supporting you? Tilliman is involves in this?”

Charlie Slusher

“Fans, everybody. Tilliman definite. Most of the players are involved and what is happening is that we’re planning on targeting the districts after this.”

The demonstration on Saturday starts at 9:00 at the Battlefield Park on Albert Street. There has still been no official statement from the B.N.F.A. regarding the protests and no one has even seen Chimilio.
