Belize at 89th I.L.O. Conference

Belize is being represented at the eighty-ninth session of the International Labour Conference underway in Geneva, Switzerland.

High on the agenda is the abolition of forced labour, health and safety in agriculture, co-operatives and Social Security. Achievements made by Belize last year, such as the Trade Unions and Employers Organisations Act will also be highlighted. The Belize delegation, headed by Minister of Labour Valdemar Castillo includes Acting Labour Commissioner Paul Williams, Cecil Arnold of the Belize Chamber of Commerce, Dorene Quiroz and Antonio Gonzalez of the National Trade Union Congress of Belize. The conference ends June twenty-first.
