A construction worker is accused of harm by his common-law
Tonight, Zane Peter Patt is accused of harm by his common-law-wife. The construction worker, who dismantles houses for a living, appeared before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson to answer to a single charge of harm. Allegations are that on Tuesday, he intentionally and unlawfully caused harm to his common-law-wife, Nicole Reyes. Patt initially pleaded guilty to the charge with an explanation saying that on the day of the incident he and his common-law-wife had a misunderstanding. She cried out loud and he walked away but neighbours heard the commotion and called the police. He further added that Reyes wanted no further court action but the police still charged him. But his explanation made no difference since Senior Magistrate Pitts could not accept his guilty plea and offered him bail in the sum of one thousand five hundred dollars plus one surety of the same amount. Patt is due back in court on October twenty-eighth, 2019. Reyes reported to police that they got into a misunderstanding during which he lashed her across her face with a machete because she did not visit him in jail.
