A driver twice the age of a minor is charged with her sexual assault

In Belize City, a driver who was allegedly caught in a compromising position with a fifteen-year-old minor this past Tuesday, appeared unrepresented.  Police believe that Steven Castillo had sexually abused the young girl inside his parked vehicle; she was not wearing underwear when police searched his vehicle. Castillo was taken into custody and the child’s parents were called in. A doctor who examined the girl certified she was carnally known. This morning, Castillo appeared before Senior Magistrate, Aretha Ford, and was read a single charge of unlawful sexual intercourse and remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until November fourth, 2019.  Police say that on Tuesday they were conducting a routine patrol in the city when they came across a parked vehicle. Castillo was on the front seat acting suspiciously while the girl was found on the back seat.
