Aziatic, Griga Boyz team up for new CD

What do you get when you combine one of Belize’s hottest Punta bands–Griga Boyz–along with an equally talented solo artist like Aziatic? Well you get “Crazy Fi We,” a thirteen track Puntarock album from Stonetree Records. Stone Tree’s Kidd Notch, says that they were skeptical about doing the project but eventually realized the mass appeal of the Boyz made it a worthy investment.

“These guys kept on demo tapes and one day on the road while driving, I was listening to the demo tape, and afterwards I punched in an Aziatic CD and the rhythm of their song was ringing in my head and I heard the chant of Aziatic jumping in the song just the “Yaa”, the chants he normally does and I said fabulous, this is going to be it. This is just the right combination because we could never figure out how we were going to do this album with Griga Boyz. What was going to be the concept of the album and how we were going to market this album.”
Sheldon, Backup Vocals, Griga Boyz
“Griga Boyz come from Dangriga. We formed this band, Sean, the Slim Shady, he came with trap sets and bits of things and we got buckets; that’s how we started. We’d to go on streets and behind pick-ups and knock and let people see us.”
“I usually do my thing on the stage, wine, entertain. “Crazy For We” is all about, natural thing, all the gyal they crazy fi we. Everyday, every night, the girls they call your house, they are around your house, they are around your bed everything and that’s why me and Aziatic finally came up with “Crazy Fi We.” We even got girls all about in the studio wanting to get in this thing here.”
At the end of tonight’s newscast we will premiere The Griga Boyz first music video, “Crazy Fi We.” It was produced by Channel 5’s Rick Romero.
