Destinee Arnold takes the crown of Miss Universe Belize

On Friday night, eight Belizean beauties strutted the stage at the Civic Center in hope of becoming the new Miss Universe Belize. The televised pageant started with an introductory dance where the contestants got a chance to formally introduce themselves and provide some background of their origins. Five contestants were from Belize City, one from Roaring Creek village, one from San Pedro and the other from Punta Gorda. As the night progressed, the ladies got a chance to express their pizzazz in the swim suit segment and then walked the catwalk with elegance and poise in gorgeous evening wear. Shortly after, Destinee Arnold was selected as Miss Popularity and Aarti Sooknandan was selected as Miss. Congeniality. It took them a step closer to the moment of truth.  And then it came. The top three finalists were Destiny Wagner, Destinee Arnold, and Markeisha Young. As Markeisha was chosen as the second runner up it was down to the two Destinies. The moment the entire Belize was waiting for. It was an emotional moment with both tears and overwhelming joy as Destinee Dominique Arnold captured the crown as Miss Universe Belize 2019. The new Miss Universe Belize was an early favourite, she is twenty-six years old who studied sociology. She now gets the opportunity to represent Belize at the international Miss Universe pageant at a venue to be announced.
