Teenager on remand for Arson
Tonight, teenager, Vince Timmons is on remand at the Belize Central Prison on three criminal offenses, including an indictable offense of arson. Late on Wednesday, Timmons appeared before two different magistrates to answer to the charges. First he appeared before Magistrate, Stephanie Gillett for a threat to destroy. Allegations are that on September third, 2019, he told Annissa Hernandez, that he would burn down her house on Rivero Street. He pleaded not guilty to that charge. Within minutes of his first arraignment Timmons was taken before Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson for the charge of arson. Allegations are that on September fourth, instead he destroyed a short grey dress, a blue jeans pants, and a pink blouse, property belonging to Hernandez. Senior Magistrate, Tricia Pitts-Anderson explained to him that if there is evidence, his case will be committed to the Supreme Court for trial. Due to the nature of the offense, no bail was granted to Timmons and he was remanded into custody at the Belize Central Prison until November eleventh, 2019.
