BTL’s Incoming CEO lauds fiber rollout is most ambitious project

One of the most ambitious projects that B.T.L. has undertaken to date is the roll-out of fiber at residences throughout the country. The project started in 2017 and did not come cheap. B.T.L. invested in the range of ninety-three million dollars to provide high speed broadband to houses across Belize. Tesecum says the investment is worth the while.

“One of our biggest successes this past year is that we have now rolled out to fiber to the homes to over 80% of the country of Belize. That is by itself something that puts Belize on the map. And at this time from the statistics that we have seen there is no other country that has reached that level of penetration being able to reach those homes and that has been a very successful thing for us. And as a matter of fact it lays the foundation for the future of all the different services that we are going to bring.”
