11 year old injured on fair’s ferris wheel

Sunday’s murder was not the only calamity at this year’s Agriculture and Trade Show. On Saturday afternoon an eleven year old girl was seriously injured when her long hair became tangled in the mechanism of her seat on the ferris wheel. Beatrice Chan of Buena Vista Village in Cayo had part of her scalp lifted from her head in the freak accident. She is now recovering at Belmopan Hospital and is reportedly in stable condition. The ferris wheel in question is part of a group of amusement park rides operated by a company from Guatemala. Police questioned the owners and the ride was closed down for a short time until it was determined that the ferris wheel was not inherently dangerous or defective.
