Gaylord Store hit by robbers

One of Belize City’s most popular clothing outlets was the victim of a robbery this afternoon. Shortly before 2:30, three men entered Gaylord Store on King Street and held up two of the clerks at gunpoint. The men stole around a thousand dollars from the cash pan, but before escaping on their bicycles one of them hit Eloisa Novelo, an employee, on the back of her head with what appeared to be a gun. She was taken by police officers to receive medical attention and is said to be okay. Police say that the thieves were wearing stocking masks. One had on a white shirt and the other green, while both wore black pants. No arrests have been made but police are looking for one man who may be able to aid them in the investigation.
