Alex Cruz is in the U.S.A. as part of the cultural exchange programme: Participate Learning. The initiative recruits teachers from all over the world to live the experience of teaching three to five years in US schools. Cruz was chosen among a big group of candidates to be a teacher in the United States for his professional and personal skills. Each year Participate Learning opens a process of recruiting new educators willing to live a teaching and personal growth experience in the United States. Cruz says he is working on growing professional and individually.
Alex Cruz, Teacher, Participate Learning
“It will help me grow professionally and individually. As well it is an opportunity to show my country, cultures, values and attributes of my country. Professionally my expectation is to learn that system, to learn what strategies that the US educational system has in place. I will be using those strategies to go back in my country and apply it. That is professionally, individually I am looking to just cope, cope with the changes because that is one of the things that people are afraid of. Change is very powerful. It comes with a lot of up and downs but I expect to handle it, to handle the situation.”
One hundred and sixty-five lecturers from several countries were chosen.
