Teen Killers on the Loose in Garden City

A minor, as young as thirteen years old, is believed to have been involved in the double murder of Gruver Delgado and Herman Villadares. The cousins were shot and killed on Saturday morning in San Martin, Belmopan, after a tortilla delivery. Family members of the shooting victims believe that the gunman is a member of the dangerous MS Thirteen gang of El Salvador operating in Belmopan. News Five’s Isani Cayetano reports.

A pair of teenage killers remains on the lam following the double murders of cousins Gruver Delgado and Herman Valladares on Saturday morning in the San Martin area of Belmopan. The incident has raised serious concerns among residents of the community as the relatives were attacked in an open area where several persons witnessed the deadly shooting. According to Manuel Delgado, his son’s killers are from El Salvador.

“Dehn bwai dehn come from Salvador, da noh from ya. Dehn come from Salvador. Yes, well afterwards I hyah dehn gaan da ih house and I noh know weh dehn find, if dehn find di gun or something. Dehn ker di family but dehn done release them.”
Delgado told News Five off-record on Monday that he was in pursuit of the alleged killers who reportedly fled from Belmopan on Saturday morning along the George Price Highway in the direction of San Ignacio. According to the distraught father, he notified Roaring Creek police of the pursuit and subsequently observed a checkpoint along the highway. The spot check did not result in their capture.

Two teenagers, including a thirteen-year-old minor are being sought in connection with the homicides. It is also strongly believed that the suspects are members of the local MS-13 gang operating in Belmopan. Reporting for News Five, I am Isani Cayetano.
