Sedi is Undecided on U.D.P. Leadership Candidates
The race for the leadership of the United Democratic Party in the months prior to the 2020 general elections is taking shape. Despite talks of a so-called dark horse, Deputy Prime Minister Patrick Faber and National Security Minister John Saldivar are wasting no time in shoring up support from delegates across the country. But amid campaign activities being undertaken by both intra-party candidates, one man remains unconvinced by what he has seen from either challenger thus far. That’s because a strategic plan of action to address the crime situation plaguing the country, the strengthening of the education sector, as well as job creation, is yet to be presented. According to Pickstock Area Representative Wilfred Elrington, he is still undecided.
Wilfred ‘Sedi’ Elrington, Area Representative, Pickstock
“The only race I am involved in is the leadership race for the Pickstock constituency. I have no greater ambition actually.”
Isani Cayetano
“Which of the two gentlemen are you leaning towards in terms of your support?”
Wilfred ‘Sedi’ Elrington
“Actually, the jury is still out on that. I haven’t made any commitment. I am hoping and praying and wishing that I will start hearing from them what they are proposing and how they propose to create employment for our people, how they proposed to deal effectively with the crime situation, how they propose to overhaul the education situation. I want to feel that when we move from one leader to the next we are going to be going a higher notch, so the only way one can get that feeling is by hearing what they have to offer. I have not heard any such offer up to this point in time, so I am like you, waiting and hoping to hear something to make up my mind.”
