Cop Claims He Was Assaulted by Minister Castro and His Son

There is an allegation tonight against a minister and his son by a police corporal. The corporal, Christopher Smith, who believes he was doing his duty, allegedly came under attack by Minister Edmond Castro and his son Jahfari. The incident is said to have occurred on September fifteenth at around five forty-five pm, on Regent Street at the Leslie Cycling Criterion.  The corporal says there has been no court action and today, he shared a letter that the police took as a summary of his report.  It was brief and at the end it said, “No Court Action Requested.”  This, he says, is not true since he has requested court.  The officer has sought an attorney and says he even gave police the name of witnesses.  The corporal says it started when Jahfari appeared to have a flat on his bike and was told that according to the rules, he cannot go back in the race.  This, says the corporal, was when Jahfari placed his bicycle in the middle of the start line area and refused to move, even though he was obstructing the free flow of the other riders. He says he approached young Castro and told him he needed to move, but that Jahfari refused. The officer says he pulled Jafari’s bicycle handle to remove him from the middle of the street and that is when he pushed the officer in his chest. He adds that Minister Castro then made his way through the barrier and assaulted him. Smith claims that the minister became enraged and threatened him. Jafari was then removed from the area by spectators. The corporal says he is expecting the police to charge the father and son with assault, using indecent words and obstruction, but so far there has only been inaction. We tried to contact Minister Castro but there was no reply.
