Opposition Leader Recovers After Road Traffic Accident
P.U.P. Leader John Briceño is back to full capacity after being involved in a road traffic accident in early August. Briceño was in the passenger seat of his Toyota Prado SUV, which was being driven at the time by the driver, Edwin Hill, when the accident occurred. They were on the Philip Goldson Highway when their path was obstructed by a bus near the curve at Rhaburn Ridge Village. Hill swerved to avoid a collision and the vehicle flipped. Today, Briceño told the media that he has recovered.

“It is no short of a miracle that my driver and I could have walked out. I have a fairly large cut but it was the glass that cut my head. I wasn’t that I burst my head. So I am very grateful to the Almighty that was there to keep us and we have to learn from that: seat belt, seat belt, seat belt and try to maintain your speed. The faster you go the bigger the danger that you have on the road. Presently I am feeling well. I had an unplanned, almost three weeks of holiday. I have not had a holiday for a long time and I was on the ground for eight weeks travelling all across the country doing the village council elections. You count your blessings and I feel that I am really blessed and privileged to be with you here today.”
