Two bodies found in Cayo, Orange Walk
Police are trying to find out whether Mervin Valerio, a thirty-eight year old labourer of Georgeville Village in the Cayo District, had already died when he was run over by a Novelo’s bus on Saturday. The bus driver, Albino Moh, told police that around 3:30 a.m. he was driving to Belize City and upon reaching Unitedville he saw Valerio lying in the middle of the road. He said he swerved to avoid hitting the body, but his rear wheel still hit the corpse. Police say their investigation so far shows that Valerio was seen drunk in Unitedville just prior to the incident.
Meanwhile on Sunday another man was found dead. Twenty-five year old Bernabe Cawich was discovered by police in a house in San Felipe Village, Orange Walk around 9:30 a.m. The corpse had chop wounds to the head, hands and abdomen. Police, as they say, are investigating.
