A Poster and Video Competition for Students
While the event is expected to encourage young people to pursue a career in the maritime field, there are two ongoing competitions, which commenced on September seventeenth. The deadline is drawing near and Swift says that the winners will be announced at the expo.
Stacey Swift, Planning, Policy and PR Manager, B.P.A.
“It’s geared towards third and fourth form high schools students and it is in line with the theme because the theme for World Maritime Day is “Empowering Women in the Maritime Community.” So this poster competition is more focus on the theme and the winner will be announced at the exhibition, the expo that we will be having. Now when you look at the video competition, it is more in line with what it is that they would want to see get done in the sector. How is it that they could actually incorporate gender equality in the maritime sector in Belize?”

“That deadline is tomorrow (Friday) right?”
Stacey Swift
“Yes, but we have extended it to next week Tuesday to give them sufficient time to submit their entries into the competition.”
