Julius Espat Reappointed as Deputy Party Leader for the P.U.P.

John Briceño

One the resolutions passed on Saturday was the re-appointment of Julius Espat as the Deputy Party Leader for the west. Espat resigned from the post in July 2018.  He was first appointed to the post in 2012, but demitted saying he considered it purely ceremonial.  Espat has also bucked heads with several leaders of the party on national and internal party matters.  Today, Espat and Party Leader John Briceño say that it’s time to move forward in a cohesive manner.

“There will be times when we don’t agree on everything. What we agree is that we believe that it is important for us to have a central government managed by the People’s United Party. All of agree on that and as I said the People’s United Party is not a social party. It is a political party. We are not going to agree on everything but we do agree that we need a P.U.P. government so we can bring development, create jobs, fight corruption and fight crime.”

“I am glad to say that the Party Leader has seen the light, he is seeing these things and the mere fact that he wants me to be beside him once again is a clear indication that he understands what we need to do. So I am proud of him for doing that but that does not mean that I will be quiet.  He knows that. Maybe he will put in some earplugs once in a while but I think it is healthy. It is healthy for us to discuss the issues.”
