Another Attempt on the Life of Mark Clarke

Back in February of this year, forty-two-year-old Marl Clarke was shot to the head near Pitts Alley on north side Belize City. He survived the incident, but no one had been charged. On Friday night, a second attempt was made on his life in the same area, at the corner of Pitts Alley and New Road and he was fortunate again. Just after eight p.m., Clarke was targeted by a gunman who approached him and fired shots in his direction. Police say that a motive for the crime has not been established as yet, but investigators are following several leads.

“On Friday, shortly after 8:30 p.m., police received information of a shooting at the corner of New Road and Pitts Alley. As a result, they visited the K.H.M.H. where they met and spoke with Mark Clarke, forty-two years, who reported that while standing at the corner of New Road, he was approached by a male person wearing a cap, who pulled out a handgun and fired several shots towards his direction, one of which caught him, causing an injury. As a result, police are investigating the matter. He was examined and later released the following morning from the hospital because apparently it was only flesh wounds. We are following several leads with respect to this investigation.”
