Two drown in separate incidents

Two other lives were lost over the weekend as the result of accidental drowning. Early Sunday morning a resident of Benque Viejo discovered the lifeless body of a man floating in the Mopan River behind her home. It was later identified as twenty-six year old Guatemalan Hilberto Hernandez. Hernandez and two others had attempted to cross the Mopan from Benque Viejo into Melchor on Friday night, but Hernandez disappeared along the way. On Sunday afternoon in Pomona seven-year-old Ramon Peters was bathing in the river with his eighteen-year-old sister, when he disappeared from view. After searching for over an hour, his lifeless body was found floating nearby.
