C.E.O. Alpuche Supports Training for Cops to Deal with Troubled Minors
Today, the C.E.O. in the Ministry of Human Development, Judith Alpuche, acknowledged the need for more collaborative work with the police when it comes to detaining minors. Speaking about the video of the hostel escapee who was roughed up while being detained by the police, C.E.O. Alpuche says that her ministry stands ready to work with their partners to provide the police with training opportunities to better respond to that kind of scenario. Alpuche described the matter as being complex.

“It is a very complex situation. I think all has been said. Just to say that we certainly would support assisting the police with training. I think the ComPol has acknowledged that it would be a good idea. The NCFC has extended an offer for that and we certainly would come on board with that. These are difficult situations that I think we need to handle in ways to support the dignity of everybody involved.”
