Hobbs Launches its Own Calendar
U.S.A.-based Hobbs Brewing Company started distribution of twelve ounce cans and kegs from out of Placencia earlier this year. Hobbs’ production in Belize features two super-premium beers called the Wildcat I.P.A. and Hummingbird Belizean Golden Ale. Over the weekend, Hobbs Brewing Company launched its own calendar for 2020, which features twelve Belizean women. According to the Hobbs team, the calendar was done to promote the best of Belize. Hobbs’ brew master, Garrick Rodemeyer, spoke with the press about what makes Hobbs the “only beer worth drinking.”

“For a smaller company like us, a micro-brewery or craft brewery, we actually have hands-on. We are actually adding the hops into the kettle, we are mixing the worts, for when we do the mashing, when we’re actually putting the grains in the mash ton, we are doing the transfers, we are moving the hoses around. For us, we actually like the hands-on. We are actually able to add in as much hops as we can, we can adjust if we need to, to adjust flavors or if it’s just water or various minerals to actually help the water so that it makes a better beer.”

“What has been the reaction of the public so far?”
Garrick Rodemeyer
“So far it has been going very well. We can’t keep up with demand. At our level, we couldn’t keep up with it any way. We are having such high demand from all over the country because it is so new and so different because we are an ale. They do lagers at Belikin. They stick with lager beers which is completely different.”
The calendar is now available at the Hobbs office on the Placencia Road.
