Dangriga to receive new infrastructure

The town of Dangriga is due for a major face-lift thanks to over six million dollars worth of infrastructural contracts that were signed today. The works consist largely of dredging and realigning several canals that provide drainage for the town. The contracts were signed with Mid-South Investments Limited for just under two million dollars and Lopez Equipment Company for over four million. In both cases the work will be completed over the next two years. Funding comes from a loan from the World Bank under government’s Roads and Municipal Drainage Project. Project supervision is being handled by the Halcrow Group of the U.K. Future construction will take place in Punta Gorda, San Ignacio and Corozal.
