MS-13 Gang Member Deported to El Salvador

Thirty-six-year-old Tomas Alexander Paises has been deported to his country of origin. Paises was arrested for being a member of the MS-thirteen gang and deported to El Salvador. He was arrested by the Anti-Gang Task Force and Interpol officers in Belize last month but was handed over to Salvadoran and Guatemalan Interpol representatives at the Belize Western Border on October first.  According to police, Paises was arrested in Belmopan during an anti-gang operation. Police investigations into his background revealed that Paises was convicted via an Ex parte trial in El Salvador in October 2015, along with other MS-thirteen gang members for Robbery and Kidnapping. Paises will serve a forty-eight year prison sentence in El Savador for crimes committed in that country. Prior to his detention, he was residing at Maravilla Street, Las Flores area, Belmopan City.
