Fishermen Targeted by Gunman in Van
Two fishermen escaped unhurt on Marine Parade after a gunman fired several shots at their direction. Michael Hemmans and Shelton Reyes were at the pier near Golden Bay when a van drove up and a person inside opened fire at the unsuspecting duo. Luckily, none of them were injured in the shooting and they escaped with their lives. Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero shares details on what transpired, but says that investigators are yet to determine a motive for the gun violence.
Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch
“On the third day of October 2019 around 4:55 p.m., police responded to a shooting incident on marine parade. Upon arrival, they spoke to one Michael Hemmans and Shelton Reyes who reported that they were cleaning fish at that area; that is an area where they usually have their products for sale. A van arrived at the area; thereafter a male person exited the van and fired several shots at them. Fortunately no one was injured and the van sped off thereafter.”
