A Near-Fatal Chopping in Trio Village, Toledo
A resident of Trio Village in Toledo District is hospitalized in a critical condition following a chopping incident on Sunday night in the village. Forty-two-year-old Alejandro Xol was struck to the neck with a machete by another resident in front of a supermarket in the village. At this time, authorities have not been able to ascertain a motive for the chopping, but can confirm that Xol was attacked by a machete wielding man. Police say they are looking for a main suspect in this attempt made on Xol’s life.

“Around 9:50 p.m., police responded to a report of a chopping incident in Trio Village. Upon their arrival, they received information that one Alejandro Xol, forty-two years Guatemalan national, was chopped to the neck and was taken to the southern regional hospital where he remains in a critical condition.”
