Musa leaves for Americas summit
One man who will not be around to feel the winds of the simulated hurricane is Prime Minister Said Musa. Musa and a high level delegation left today for Quebec City, Canada to attend the Third Summit of the Americas. The meeting, a follow up to those held in Miami in 1994 and Santiago, Chile in 1998, will bring together leaders from thirty-four countries of the Western Hemisphere. The primary objective is to confirm a draft text of an agreement to establish the Free Trade Area of the Americas. At the summit Musa will deliver the CARICOM regional statement on disaster management and the environment. He is accompanied by Minister Ralph Fonseca, Ambassadors Eamon Courtenay and Lisa Shoman, CEO Cresencio Sosa, as well as other officials.
