Former Murder Suspect is Busted with Unlicensed Firearm
Tonight, a former murder suspect is on remand at the Belize Central Prison after he was nabbed in Ladyville in possession of an unlicensed firearm. Thirty-one-year-old Michael Edward Pook was arraigned in the Belize City Magistrate’s Court before Senior Magistrate Aretha Ford for kept firearm without a gun license and kept ammunition without a license. Allegations are that on October nineteenth, 2019, in front of Wing’s Restaurant located at mile nine on the Phillip Goldson Highway, he was found in possession of a pistol with various rounds of ammo. Pook pleaded not guilty to the charges and was remanded to prison until December nineteenth, 2019. In March of this year, Pook, and his siblings, Adrian and Ryan were set free of the 2011 stabbing murder of taxi man Errol Ferguson. Pook has been employed by a well-known security company, which provided him with a firearm. But when he was found with the firearm, he was not at the place he was posted to perform duties. It is reported that he assaulted someone who has not requested any court action.
