Another Murder in O.W.: John Doe is Bludgeoned to Death in Cemetery
Even as investigations continue on the murder of Darren Gentle, this afternoon the body of another murdered man was found at the Orange Walk cemetery. At this time, he is being classified as John Doe pending the verification of his identity. In less than twenty-four hours, Orange Walk Police were called to the gruesome crime scene at one of the cemeteries in the town. Around two o’clock, police went to the cemetery at the corner of San Antonio Road and Dunn Street. There, Scenes of Crime technicians pulled the body of John Doe from between two crypts in a mausoleum that is located just a few feet from the entrance to the cemetery. The body was discovered in broad daylight around one-forty-five in the afternoon by a passerby in the area. The victim, police say, had extensive injuries to his head and face. He had been bludgeoned to death with a concrete cross. It is suspected that he had been killed several hours before the body was found. It was taken to the Northern Regional Hospital morgue where it awaits an autopsy. We will have more on this in Friday’s newscast.
