Dario’s Meat Pies Robbed by Trio of Armed Thieves
Twenty-three-year-old Joseph Richards is one of three persons who police believe entered Dario’s Meat Pies on Saturday evening and robbed Nicole Perdomo of a little over thirty thousand dollars in cash, in various denominations. According to Perdomo she was upstairs of the popular location on Hyde’s Lane counting the money when a pair of armed robbers stormed into the building demanding money. In fear of her life, the resident handed over eleven thousand dollars in Belizean currency and eight thousand dollars in U.S. currency to the thieves. Upon hearing the commotion, fifty-nine-year-old Ofelia Hernandez, exited her room and walked into the living room where she observed someone standing on the veranda outside of the building. After locking him out, the robber inside the premises shoved Hernandez to the ground while making his escape out onto the street and into New Road. Earlier today, Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero provided details of the incident.
