Michael McDougall is Charged for the Murder of Darren Gentle; Another Being Sought
While investigations continue into the weekend murders of Inmar Welch and Michael Gladden, police say that one of two persons wanted for the murder of Darren Gentle, has been charged for the crime. On the night of October twenty-third, the twenty-seven-year-old former employee of the Ministry of Works was inside a vehicle allegedly conducting a drug deal on a dirt road which leads to the village of San Jose Nuevo Palmar Village in Orange Walk. Gentle was the driver of the vehicle and was shot to the head by a person who got into the rear passenger seat of the vehicle. Tonight, police say that Michael McDougall, a twenty-eight-year-old resident of Belize City, has been charged for the homicide.

“So far, one other person remains at large who is wanted in relation to this investigation.”

“Talk to us about what police believe happened outside of the explanation that the friend gave. What does police believe happened?”
ACP Joseph Myvett
“Well at this time, we are still trying to ascertain what exactly happened that night aside from the explanation given by the witness. Police have also been doing their own investigations and are following several leads which eventually led to this arrest so far. But it is an ongoing investigation at this point so the investigation doesn’t stop at the arrest of that one person.”
