Adult and minor sentenced for gun and drugs found in boutique
In the courts, two people have lost their freedom for three years when a Magistrate found them guilty today of three charges. Thirty-two year old Ellington Ottley Senior and a seventeen year old minor will spend time for Keeping a Prohibited Firearm, Prohibited Ammunition, and Possession of four hundred and sixty-seven grams of cannabis. Magistrate Tracy Sosa sentenced the duo to separate three-year sentences on each charge but she also ruled that the sentences are to run at the same time. Ottley and the minor have since appealed. The incident occurred on January eighth of last year when police received a tip and went to search Buy Low Fashion Boutique on Daly Street. Inside a barrel police found the cannabis in a metal soda can and a point three fifty-seven magnum revolver wrapped in a towel. They also found eleven rounds of point three fifty-seven caliber ammunition in a black plastic bag hidden at the bottom of the barrel. At the time Ottley and the minor were at the boutique. Today the two gave unsworn statements and denied knowing that the drugs and weaponry were in the barrel.
