Family Claims Mother of 2 Was Murdered When She Was Poisoned…

News Five has received word that Dangriga Police are investigating the sudden death of an eighteen-year-old mother of two from the south. Shylee Polanco was taken to the Southern Regional Hospital on October twenty-third after she reportedly ingested poison; she died several days later on October twenty-sixth at the hospital. On Monday, the police said that they would not report on the matter because it is being treated as a suicide and as you know, suicides are rarely reported in the news. But today, the family is breaking its silence and making a very strong allegation. The family believes that the mother of two was poisoned.  Today, News Five spoke with Polanco’s mother, Estella, who says that her daughter told them and the police that she was choked and forced to drink poison. As we said, it is a serious allegation.

“I believe she was murdered because she was living an abusive life with this young man. When I received this message, it was on Thursday night about eight or nine in the night. I went to the hospital the Friday morning, he wanted to know when and how I find out that my daughter was in the hospital.”

“Yes sir. She had told the police that he choked her, he beat her and in the hospital, he choked her in the hospital and that he was the one that force down the poison in her mouth. And while she was laying there on the bed, and I was there, her boyfriend, me as her mother and the pastor was there when she get up from the bed. She looked him in the face and tell the boy, finish kill me. That dah weh she tell the bwai directly in front of me and Pastor Richards. And the young man kneel down to me and tell me Miss Estella please forgive me for what I did to your daughter; that dah what he tell me. And I tell him, I am sorry, I cannot forgive you cause my daughter is in a state that I cannot forgive you. Only God can forgive you. My daughter look pan ahn three times and say finish kill me.”
