Nelson Ayuso

Well-known entertainer and television personality Nelson Ayuso lost his life in a fatal road traffic accident on Tuesday night when he was traveling towards San Ignacio Town with close friend Imer Hernandez.  The pair was passing through Ontario Village when Hernandez lost control of the pickup truck and ran off the road.  Ayuso suffered massive head and body injuries and died on the scene, while Hernandez was transported to Belize City for medical attention and remains hospitalized.  Today, Senior Superintendent Hilberto Romero shared with us what a police investigation has uncovered thus far.

Sr. Supt. Hilberto Romero, Deputy Head, National Crimes Investigation Branch

“On Tuesday, October 29th, 2019, around 10:20 p.m., police visited an area between mile fifty-five and fifty-six on the George Price Highway, between Ontario and Blackman Eddy Village where they observed a blue Sierra vehicle on the right hand side of the road with damages.  Investigation revealed that Imer Hernandez was driving the said vehicle when he lost control.  As a result, he received injuries.  Along with him at the time was Nelson Ayuso who also received severe injuries and was taken to the hospital where he died shortly thereafter.  Imer Hernandez is presently at the Belize Healthcare Partners where he is receiving treatment.  An investigation into the matter is ongoing and a file will be put together.”
