B.E.L. offers high tech customer service
Though B.E.L. is having some difficulty keeping the power on, they are making some advances in consumer relations. In addition to having a customer care representative available until nine p.m., individual billing information will soon be available on the world wide web.
Sean Fuller, Information Systems Manager, B.E.L.
“Customers will be able to log on to B.E.L.’s website, put in their pin number and their account number and be presented with the complete history and details of the customer’s account. Customers will be able to view their last bill as it was printed and sent to them online. They will also be able to view their payment information, their billing information, and more importantly their historical uses information, where they will be able to see a twelve month history of their usage of electricity, including a graph that will show their level of usage throughout the year.”

Not only will you get an overview of your bills, the website promises to be interactive. It will allow you to also ask for information or make a complaint.
Sean Fuller
“If a customer has a complaint they can make it by filling out a form online. Once that form has been submitted, our customer services department will automatically be alerted by e-mail that the form has been submitted with the details of the form and they can act on it right away.”
“Request estimates, cost estimates. A suggestion box where customers can write in suggestions about their service, about our product which is electricity. Also be able to pay their bills eventually. We want that the customer not only have the facility to view their bill online, but eventually be able to pay their bill online using a credit card.”
The use of credit cards will not be available until local banks are able to facilitate the service. However, you can still avoid long lines at B.E.L.’s offices by paying when you shop. Businesses such as Malic’s Poultry are a part of B.E.L.’s computer network, so your account is immediately updated while you get your groceries. Reporting for News 5, Jose Sanchez.
You can log on to B.E.L.’s website at www.bel.com.bz. Fuller says that the link to customer billing information should be operational by the end of the month.
