Bullet finds wrong target in driveby shooting

In crime news a young woman was shot on Friday night in the course of a drive by shooting. Sherlette Augustus, her boyfriend and another friend were standing at the corner of King Street and West Canal when gunmen fired on them from a passing vehicle. Augustus was struck by a bullet to the abdomen and was taken to the Karl Heusner Memorial Hospital. Though her injuries are severe, doctors say that she is conscious and in a stable condition. It is believed that the gunmen were trying to shoot one of her companions. Three men were detained for questioning and police are also looking for the intended victims who may be able to assist them in their investigation.
