Young ladies compete for Miss Southside

Last time it was the Mr. Nice Guy competition and now the same organizers have planned a pageant in which nine contestants from Gwen Liz, E.P. Yorke and YWCA will vie for the title of Miss Southside. Pageant Organizer Mark Jenkins says that the young ladies are ready for an entertaining night.

“This is the second event that we’re actually having. The first one was Mr. Nice Guy and that came out well. This next one is Miss Southside.”

“This Pageant is basically to unite the teenagers and each division from the southside together and having a fun filled time. Because throughout the practice it’s not just practice, practice, practice, we also have fun.”

Candy Taylor, Contestant

“My name is Candy Taylor and I’m representing the most exciting area, Collet Division. I think I should be crowned Miss Southside because I’m the most beautiful girl in the pageant and I have a great personality. Thank you.”

Francelia Smith, Contestant

“Hello my name is Francelia Smith, I’m proudly representing Albert Division and I think I should be crowned Miss Southside because I’m caring, loving, friendly and generous to most people.”

Shahera Bodden, Contestant

“My name is Shahera Bodden. I represent a beautiful part of Belize, Mesopotamia. Why I want to be crowned Miss Southside is because I’m nice, I’m beautiful and I do a lot of things for my community. Thank you.”

Jaqueline Whylie, Contestant

“Hi, I’m Jacqueline Whylie and I’m proudly representing the astonishing Queen’s Square Division. I think I should be crowned Miss Southside because I’m very wonderful, I’m intelligent and I’m helpful to everyone in my community. Thank you.”

Tanisha King, Contestant

“My name is Tanisha King, and I’m proudly representing the Lake I Division. I think that I should be crowned Miss Southside because I am one of the most intelligent, outstanding and talented person in the pageant. Thank you.”

Kimberly Wagner, Contestant

“Hi everyone, my name is Kimberly Wagner. I’m proudly representing the West Lake Division and I think I should be crowned Miss Southside because I’m very kind and generous and I would like to send a message to all the youths. Reach for the stars, get your goal because education plays a high role. Thank you.”

Kiphanie Wade, Contestant

“Hi, my name is Kiphanie Wade. I’m extremely proud to represent the beautiful Collet Division. I think I should be crowned Miss Southside because I have worked very hard and put a lot of dedication towards this pageant. And remember youth’s whatever you put in is what you’re going to get out.”

Cara Williams, Contestant

“Hi my name is Cara Williams and I am representing the best area in Belize Junesville. I think I should become the queen of Southside because I would like to maintain a membership programme in my community. I would try to find established professionals to be a big brother or sister for people who need such help.”

Jeremie Flores, Contestant

“My name is Jeremie Flores, proudly representing the area that is full of bashment: Port Loyola. I think I should be crowned Miss Southside because I’m very talented and full of enough skills. Thank you.”

The young women will entertain the audience with their singing, acting and dancing abilities as well as a question and answer segment. Despite it’s title, the Miss Southside Pageant will be held on the north side of town at Holy Redeemer Parish Hall. Things get underway at seven on Saturday night and tickets cost six dollars at the door.
