Police Destroys over 100 Kilo of Drugs on San Pedro

Today San Pedro police destroyed over one hundred kilos of various drugs on Ambergris Caye. The drugs, according to San Pedro police, have accumulated over a couple years. This is the first time that such destruction has taken place on the island. Here’s more from Superintendent Christopher Noble.

“We are here today to get rid of, so to speak, what are concluded cases that were cases before the court and what is property that has been found and has been lingering over a period of time.  It is an accumulated amount over some years, so it is a larger amount than would normally be for a station like this. I would say upwards of one hundred kilos and that includes different types of illicit items.   The safety of the location is done prior to what we have. We will do an above land burn and I am hoping that by the next time we have a proper working incinerator on the island and we will get it done there.”
