Dance recital set for Sunday
Vista Dance Studio, so named because of its location in the Vista Del Mar Area of Ladyville, stages its fourth annual dance recital Sunday at the Biltmore. Owner and former dancer Sistie Fairweather Harmes says the show affords the students an opportunity to show their talent while cultivating excellence.

“We have dancers from age four to adults. I usually choreograph the whole show, but this year we have guest choreographers. We have a professor of dance from Cuba who has choreographed about two pieces. We have a guest choreographer from Santa Clara University in California who has done a piece. We also have a group that does mime from Belmopan called Dramatic Force International.”

What are some of the popular ballet pieces people can look forward to seeing?”
Sistie Fairweather Harmes
“We have an excerpt from Sleeping Beauty, the Garland Dance. We have a little excerpt from Swan Lake and Copelia. I tell you what, the most enjoyable ones to the kids are the more modern pieces. It will be very good. It will be a nice outing for the family.”
Forty-eight dancers will participate in the annual recital when the curtain goes up at the Biltmore at 6:00 p.m. Tickets at ten dollars adults and five dollars children can be bought at the door.
