Another Minor Injured in Shooting

A one-year-old girl Melanie Martin was shot as she slept with her grandmother on Sunday night. Sixteen-year-old Chantuse Martinez was also shot in the same incident and remains in critical condition.  Within twenty-four hours, another girl was shot on Monday night in Belize City. Police say that just after ten-thirty, fourteen-year-old Trishelle Minor was sleeping in her house when she was woken up by gunshots and quickly realized she had been shot. According to the child’s relatives, she is in a stable condition, however, her arm was badly damaged by the bullet and she will have to undergo surgery. Police are investigating.
