A Female Tourist Dies in Another RTA near Carmelita

Another tourist has died in another road traffic accident that happened around three thirty this afternoon in the outskirts of Carmelita Village in Orange Walk District. We understand that the woman was on a tour with her family members, two adults and two children, and were heading back to Belize City. Their tour operator was driving the vehicle when between miles forty-one and forty-two on the Philip Goldson Highway he lost control of the vehicle which overturned several times before coming to a stop on the opposite side of the highway. The elderly woman died on the spot and the others sustained varying degrees of injuries and were taken to the Northern Regional Hospital for treatment. Their condition is still unknown.
