Rene Lui dies in road accident
He was a permanent fixture at the soft drink giant for over thirty years, but a tragic automobile accident has cut short the life of Rene Lui, an employee of Bowen and Bowen. On Saturday morning the sixty-year old Lui, on an outing with five Cuban doctors, had just entered the property of the Gallon Jug Estate in the Orange Walk District. At around 9:30 he lost control of his Ford Ranger double cab pickup on the private gravel road. The vehicle rolled over and Lui, who was reportedly not wearing a seatbelt, was killed. Of the five Cubans, three were treated and released while two were hospitalized in the KHMH. Vivian McCora suffered several broken ribs while Ordanta Rivero received a cut over the eye and spinal injuries. Rene Lui, dead at age sixty.
