Taiwanese Embassy Issues Another Public Caution

For the second time in recent months, the Embassy of the Republic of China (Taiwan) in Belize has issued a public caution. This time it is about an article circulating on social media that “Taiwanese Government warns investors, caution with Belize.” The embassy states that it is all fabricated and that instead it has worked with the government to promote and strengthen the bilateral trade with Belize.  The embassy reminds that in June, a Taiwanese delegation was here to explore investment opportunities in tourism. And that another delegation was here in October looking at the agriculture sector. The embassy goes on to list other initiatives to bolster trade and investment, while appealing to the public to be cautious of inaccurate information regarding Taiwan.
