Former Inmate Sues the Prison
A former inmate is claiming that he was raped while serving time at the prison and is seeking compensation. The alleged victim is seeking aggravated and exemplary damages, for the harm, unnatural crime and personal injuries caused to him by a prisoner. The former inmate claimed that he was raped by another prisoner on November twenty-fifth, 2017, when he sustained bodily injuries. The claimant stated that he reported the matter to a prison officer who failed to report it to his superior so he remained with his perpetrator in the Administrative Segregation Section. He claims he was sexually assaulted a second time on November twenty-ninth, 2017. The case was adjourned to January seventh, 2020, when Justice Griffith is expected to give her decision. Attorney Anthony Sylvestre is representing the claimant while Crown Counsel Kimberly Wallace and Senior Counsel Philip Zuniga are representing the defendant.
