Belize-Cuba Mixed Commission meets in Havana
A delegation of Belizean officials has returned from Havana where members participated in the fourth session of the Cuba-Belize Mixed Commission. The two-day series of meetings planned bilateral programmes in trade, agriculture, health, education, sports, culture, housing and tourism. A large number of Belizean students currently study at Cuban Universities and specialty schools, while Cuban doctors and nurses work throughout Belize. The most recent cooperation programme involves one hundred Cuban construction workers who are building houses outside of Belize City. Heading the delegation was Ambassador Amalia Mai, while Cuba was represented by Vice Minister of Foreign Investment and Economic Cooperation, Raul Taladrid.
