1 stolen gun recovered, 1 discovered not stolen
Although Belmopan police have not been successful in making an arrest in connection with the high powered guns stolen from the training school armoury on January twenty-ninth they have had some luck in case of the break in at the station’s exhibit room. Police today confirmed that a nine millimeter pistol found in a San Ignacio open lot on February twenty-sixth, was one of the guns stolen from police custody on February nineteenth. They also reported that a forty-four magnum handgun initially thought to be stolen in the same theft was in fact found after a thorough inventory of the room was taken. Only two thousand, six hundred dollars in cash, evidence from last month’s municipal payroll hijacking, remains missing from the exhibit room. Police continue their investigations.
