17 more cops questioned in gun heist
The big break that was hinted at yesterday has yet to be announced, but police investigators are apparently putting the heat on their own in an effort to crack the case of eleven high powered guns stolen from the Belmopan armoury in January. Seventeen more officers have been questioned in addition to the two detained yesterday. A morning release reported that the seventeen, including some high-ranking officers, had been interdicted from duty, but this was later retracted by police press officer G. Michael Reid. A story in today’s Amandala reports that the six weapons recovered by police were found at a farm near the village of More Tomorrow near Belmopan.
