Fatal hit-and-run accident claims one life in the south

Two persons died in separate fatal accidents over the weekend. A man was killed in a hit-and-run on the Southern Highway on Saturday. The fatal accident happened near the Kendal Village around four in the afternoon. Dangriga police responded to the scene where they found the victim, a resident of Maya Center, already dead.

“They observed the body of a clear complexion male person later identified as Liborio Itch, sixty-four-year-old, of Maya Center, on the right hand side of the highway when heading south. Initial investigation revealed that Mr. Itch was walking south bound when he was hit by a vehicle from behind which did not stop. At this point in time, we are seeking the public’s assistance to try to identify the vehicle and those persons who were in that vehicle that knocked down Mr. Itch. So, far we do not have any information, though.”
